As well, thé Mahapurana authoritatively expIains the creation óf the Dus Máhavidyha, Saligram Sila, corréct method of pujá, yantra worship ánd the exhaustive tréatise on initiation intó Shaivism. After the réconstruction and the abridgmént by Vedavyasa, thé extant text comprisés 24000 loka s (verses), which he taught to his disciple Romaharshana (or Lomaharshana). JL Shastri, in his book, The Siva Purana, suggests that the Vayu Purana is either a part of the complete Shiva Purana of twelve Sahit s or has a close relationship with it.
